I own the data and AI platform of a consumer lending business: from ingestion to AI systems that make real decisions in production. I set the technical direction, build the platform, and ship the AI products on top of it.

AI in production:

  • Underwriting decision engine (FastAPI on Snowpark Container Services): async API, versioned and hot-swappable decision models, every decision replayable for audit. Spec to production in six weeks.
  • The MLOps lifecycle around it: model registry, pinned versions, promote and rollback tooling, tests before any model reaches production.
  • Document AI pipeline on Snowflake Cortex, with a human validation loop that feeds few-shot learning, so the manual workload shrinks over time.

The platform underneath:

  • Near-real-time CDC from the operational database to Snowflake, dbt on Dynamic Tables, CI/CD, infrastructure fully in Terraform.
  • Rebuilding legacy business reporting in Snowflake: reverse-engineering KPI definitions that only exist in spreadsheets and PDFs, then turning them into governed pipelines and a semantic layer that BI tools query directly.
  • Secure data sharing with external partners and investors.
  • Privacy and access governance under Quebec’s Law 25.

Leadership:

  • Roadmap and architecture for the Data & AI team, technical arbitration with the product and engineering teams.
  • Internal enablement on two fronts: using AI tools well (Copilot 365, Claude Code), and getting answers out of Snowflake directly instead of waiting on a request queue.

Stack: Snowflake (SPCS, Cortex, Dynamic Tables), dbt, Python/FastAPI, AWS, Terraform.
